We are currently hiring the following positions:

  • Verge Technologies, a leading technology solutions provider, is currently seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team based out of our head office in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of open work (small projects and Service) including scheduling field technicians related to the Nova Scotia operation. The operations coordinator position will be permanent, full-time work based out of our Dartmouth, NS office.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead order initiation responsibilities between sales department and field operations department to understand size, scope, expectations of new work

    • Build job-specific work packages for field technicians

    • Create and maintain project trackers and schedule of values as needed

    • Create and schedule NS Service Orders

    • Communicate with customers and external stakeholders for field resource scheduling

    • Prepare and lead project close-out documentation process

    • Prepare and process service and time & material client billing

    • Manage and record field technician routine vehicle reports

    • Manage and maintain field safety records, reports, processes, and certifications

    • Manage and track company records on all field tools and equipment including fleet vehicles

    • Manage shared operations and service inbox

    • Assist with material management relating to open work in collaboration with purchasing coordinator

    • Collaborate and coordinate with other operations coordinators and project managers for resource assignments and customer deliverables

    • Any and all other duties assigned by management

    Experience & Knowledge Required

    • 5+ years of project or operations coordination experience within similar industry (trades)

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various roles within the company

    • Effective problem solving skills

    • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills

    • In depth experience with Microsoft Office and other industry software tools; Click-up, Quickbooks, D-Tools, BlueBeam considered an asset

    Additional Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license and reasonable driver abstract

    • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and as needed

    • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check

  • Verge Technologies, a leading technology solutions provider, is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager, Systems to join our team based out of our head office in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager, Systems will be responsible for the day-to-day management of open projects relating to Security, Life-Safety, and ProAV technology. The Project Manager, Systems will work alongside other Project Managers, Operations Coordinators, and Director of Operations to own successful outcomes of systems-based project deliverables while ensuring a positive client experience takes place.

    The Project Manager, Systems position is a permanent, full-time work based out of our Dartmouth, NS office.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Understand, own, and lead implementation of Security, Life-Safety, and ProAV system deployments with a strong focus on user experience and end functional states of the solution

    • Build and Maintain project trackers for all open projects in collaboration with lead technicians

    • Create and manage work breakdown structures with lead technicians to have worksite efficiencies realized

    • Manage and own assigned project delivery with emphasis on meeting or exceeding gross profit expectations

    • Prepare, administer, and progress claims for assigned projects

    • Assemble & submit shop drawings, commissioning plans, as-builts, test results, training plans, etc

    • Act as liaison between sales team, technicians and customers as required

    • Act as point of contact for customer and/or other trades (External)

    • Attend all project meetings as required

    • Coordinate site access, materials & resources for each assigned project

    • Ensure field timesheets are completed correctly

    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports

    • Understand, adhere to, and promote environmental health & safety practices

    • Job planning according to desired timelines, including the dissection of blueprints from designers

    • Strong ability and experience in coordinating and motivating team members while verifying completed tasks to provide on-the-job training and mentorship

    • Collaborate with solution designers as required to ensure quality installs and end functional states exist across Verge provided solutions

    • Assist with training and development of field resources to build a world class technical field team

    • Maintain and submit weekly timesheets as part of project reporting obligations to Controller and Director of operations to ensure project management and operational KPI’s evolve

    • Overall ownership of successful project delivery on behalf of the company

    • Any and all other duties assigned by management

    Experience & Knowledge Required

    • 5+ years of project management experience within similar industry (trades)

    • 5+ years of field installation experience within Security, Life-Safety or ProAV industry considered an asset

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various roles within the company

    • Effective problem-solving skills

    • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills

    • Outgoing, professional and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders

    • Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring very little supervision

    • In depth experience with Microsoft Office and other industry software tools; Click-up, MS Project, Quickbooks, D-Tools, CAD, BlueBeam considered an asset

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Lead project installations; manage project team members, project schedule, customer expectations and be accountable for the end project

    • Installation of equipment and associated wiring

    • Lead system programming , configurations and commissioning of assigned projects

    • Complete systems documentation; commissioning reports, as-builts, etc

    • Interpretation of drawings including architectural, elevation, and schematic drawings

    • Communicate with the customers about the system specifications and functions

    • Complete all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork as required

    • Attend service calls to troubleshoot systems for customers – diagnosis of problems and implementation of solutions

    • Understand, adhere to, and promote environmental health & safety practices

    • Job planning according to desired timelines, including the dissection of blueprints from designers

    • Outgoing, professional and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers, conduct site surveys and do basic estimating for time and materials jobs

    • Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring very little supervision

    • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

    • Knowledge of IP networks and the ability to configure IP based system solutions

    • Strong ability and experience in coordinating and motivating team members while verifying completed tasks to provide on-the-job training and mentors

    Experience Required: 

    • 5+ year’ experience in the commercial building or healthcare security technology business

    • Supervisory or team lead experience including both people and project management experience

    • Familiar with Commercial PA Systems, Commercial Building Security Technology, Healthcare Communication Systems, etc

    • Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues

    • Ability to manage workload and to ensure that jobs are completed on time and on budget.
