Project Coordinator - Dartmouth, NS

Verge Technologies has grown into a premier contractor and integrator for businesses and government departments across the Maritime provinces for commercial-based Communications Cabling, Security & Life Safety and Pro Audio-Visual systems. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join our team, based in Nova Scotia. Our team is made up of like-minded individuals eager to change the way we think about providing technology services to our customers.

Verge’s field operation management team oversees all work completed by Verge technicians. The work is classified into three delivery methods, Projects, Orders, Service. The role of the Project Coordinator is the work closely with the Director of Operations and the Operations Coordinator to coordinate, monitor, track, and administer all ‘Project’ work types for the company.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain project trackers for all open Projects in collaboration with Lead Technicians

  • Prepare, administer, and progress claim schedule of values of open projects

  • Assemble & submit shop drawings

  • Submit RFI’s as required

  • Act as liaison between Sales Team, Technicians and Customers & Technicians (Internal)

  • Update changes on all documentation as well as relay information to all participants

  • Act as point of contact for customer and/or other trades (External)

  • Attend all project meetings as required

  • Coordinate site access, material & resources for each assigned project

  • Ensure field timesheets are completed correctly

  • Prep and Submit As-builds and O&M documentation as required

  • Collect and compile/submit test results

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports

  • Understand, adhere to, and promote environmental health & safety practices

  • Job planning according to desired timelines, including the dissection of blueprints from designers

  • Outgoing, professional and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring very little supervision

  • Strong ability and experience in coordinating and motivating team members while verifying completed tasks to provide on-the-job training and mentors

Experience Required: 

  • 5+ year’ experience in the commercial construction, project coordination/administration/management space or ICT industry

  • Ability to manage workload and self prioritize workload in collaboration with others

  • Experience and familiarity with project management / scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, TeamGannt, etc

  • Experience and familiarity with construction / drawing software such as CAD, Bluebeam, Procore, etc

  • Preference will be given to those who have project coordination experience within the following industries:

    • Communications

    • Security

    • Electrical

    • Fire/Life-Safety

    • Mechanical

    • General Contractor/Construction

Additional Requirements: 

  • Valid driver’s licence; reasonable driver abstract

  • Willingness to work overtime

  • Travel throughout Atlantic Canada may be required

  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check and able to hold a government security clearance
