Executive Team

  • Mike McCarther, President, Verge Technologies

    Mike McCarther

    PRESIDENT, PARTNER

    A trusted sales leader in the technology and construction industry. With over 15 years in the ProAV, Commercial Security, and Communications Cabling space, Mike has built a reputation for delivering results for his customers while leading his colleagues through aggressive growth phases. He is passionate about technology and its role in transforming organizations into more competitive and innovative workplaces. Prior to the launch of Verge Technologies, Mike transformed the sales and operations teams of the ICS Division of VistaCare Communications, which led to a management buyout of that group to form Verge Technologies along with his new partners.

    Mike provides leadership and vision to both Verge Technologies and Advatek Systems through their aggressive growth and transition phases. Mike continues to drive profitable results and strategic direction to the company while having regular oversight of the sales, operations, administration and finance teams.

  • Anthony Daniels, Director of Operations, Verge Technologies

    Anthony Daniels, RCDD, ESS

    DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

    Anthony is a veteran of the Communications and Security industry across the Maritimes, beginning as a field technician and progressing through roles in warehousing, estimating, account management and solution design.

    In 2023, Anthony accepted the challenge to apply his years of field work and technical sales successes to become Verge’s Director of Operations. Anthony holds numerous manufacturer and industry certifications, including RCDD, ECC, and CCS. Anthony leads all operations management and field operations for Verge across services, small jobs and major projects.

  • Claire MacDougall, Controller, Verge Technologies

    Claire MacDougall, CPA

    CONTROLLER

    Claire obtained her CPA designation while working at Doane Grant Thornton (previously Grant Thornton) in audit, assurance, and controller-for-hire roles. This experience allowed Claire to gain experience in the world of public accounting and assurance requirements and plenty of hands-on experience across many industries throughout Nova Scotia. Claire holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Acadia University and has been with Verge since their acquisition of the ICS Division of VistaCare Communications in 2020.

    Claire leads the administration and finance functions and teams for both Verge and Advatek.

  • Peter MacLean, Director of Business Development, Verge Technologies

    Peter MacLean, CTS

    DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    Peter leads Verge’s sales department, which consists of Solution Designers (technical sales functions by solution specialty) and Account Executives (outside sales and account management functions by geographical region). In addition to leading the routine sales functions of the business, Peter focuses on mid- and long-term business development opportunities and works closely with ownership on the overall solution offering.

    Peter has been in the ProAV, Security and Communications industry for over 25 years. Spending most of his time working with industry-leading ProAV manufacturers in Regional Sales Management roles, Peter brings unmatched expertise in collaborating with consultants and end users, developing functional specifications, and ensuring high-quality, competitive solutions are implemented in new and existing facilities.

Ownership Team

Verge Technologies is owned and guided by a group of investors and advisors assembled by founding President Mike McCarther, who led the management buyout of VistaCare Communications’ ICS division to launch the company. Mike brought the group together around a shared vision: to build a world-class communications and security technology contractor based in the Maritimes. While Mike is the only shareholder involved in day-to-day operations, the ownership group plays a critical role in governance and strategic advisory, supporting both Mike and the company as a whole.

  • Director Phil Diochon contributes more than a decade of senior consulting experience in IT project delivery, process improvement and government operations.

  • CFO Ryan Corkum brings a background in commercial banking and multiple CFO roles and provides financial oversight and strategic guidance through Verge’s growth.

  • Advisor Paul Jenkins is an entrepreneur who built and sold a multi-site pharmacy business to Sobeys, later served as Sobeys’ Director of Business Development for Atlantic Canada and founded The Mount Continuing Care Community.

  • Advisor Paul LeBlanc is a serial entrepreneur with nearly three decades of company-building experience. He founded Arrivals+Departures, now one of Canada’s largest independent marketing agencies, and grew and sold Charlottetown Metal Products. He is also an EY Entrepreneur of the Year and a Top 40 Under 40 recipient.

Together, this group gives Verge experienced oversight and a long-term perspective behind the leadership and sales team our customers work with every day.
